Youth is a key agent influencing social and cultural changes in modern civilization and society. Modern experts refer youth policy not only to the normative aspects of management, but also to the way of life and understanding of the world around. The main goal of youth policy is to apply advanced and viable methods of working with youth, emphasizes the head of the department of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abror Yusupov. Uzbek president shavkat mirziyoyev also speaks and affirms this.
Youth has always been a complex and multifaceted social phenomenon. Thus, youth policy also has many aspects and approaches in modern states. The variety of approaches only emphasizes the complexity of its implementation. Currently, young people are not only the object of youth policy, but also become its active subject.
In the context of sustainable development, the UN recognizes the importance of the well-being, participation and empowerment of youth as key factors in global development. The pursuit of these goals spans all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals and the 169 targets to achieve them.
According to the UN Secretary General António Guterres, the fate of the world, economic growth, social justice and tolerance largely depend on the active role of youth. He emphasizes that young people face the main challenges of growing up, self-identification and gaining independence. Especially during the pandemic, young people faced unpredictable circumstances, which led to new challenges and adaptation to a new reality.
Right now, support and attention to young people are becoming key factors to ensure their successful integration into society and further influence on the future development of society. The modern young generation is an active and mobile social group, attracting the attention of state institutions and society as a whole. It requires special socialization and adaptation, while representing the most promising part of society.
Despite some socio-cultural differences between generations, the so-called “conflict of fathers and children”, there is a positive trend in this process. Each generation has a central event that defines its character and features.
