Today, agricultural work is very diverse in Russia, and this, in turn, caused the emergence of a large number of different models of tractors. For example, in order to plow the land, you will need to purchase caterpillar special equipment, as it has a large power traction. But the equipment for processing tilled crops should have a large ground clearance, the only way it can perform its functions and at the same time not damage the plants. For such a task, wheeled transport would be an ideal option, it can have an adjustable track width, which is very convenient in this work.
In fact, there are a lot of models of tractors, each of which will have its own distinctive features. For example, tracked vehicles such as the T-170 tractor rely on a large amount of surface when working. But at the same time, it perfectly adheres to the soil, compacts a little and crushes it. Such special equipment has excellent cross-country ability and high traction properties.
But the model of a wheeled tractor with the same power has much less weight, so it is maneuverable and versatile. Such equipment will have less grip on the surface, respectively, it will also have reduced power traction in comparison with caterpillar vehicles.
All tractors are divided into three categories: special-purpose equipment, universal and general-purpose vehicles. The last group, along with various tools and units, is actively used in agriculture. Such transport is necessary for plowing, continuous cultivation, sowing, harvesting, and so on. All machines in this category have excellent traction, excellent power traction and a powerful engine.
But universal tractors, for example, the T-130 tractor, fully justify the name of their category. They are actively used not only in agriculture, but also in the construction of houses and roads. Distinctive features of this technique are more switchable speeds and track width adjustment.
Special purpose technique applied in limited areas. For example, if in agriculture it is required to cultivate the soil located in the garden or under the canopy of trees, then a small vehicle will be needed here. These models have low thrust and turning radius, and some mechanisms are arranged in a special way.
The first Russian tractors appeared back in the twentieth year of the last century, while many enterprises tried to produce universal equipment to perform certain tasks. All of them were somewhat different in their design, but numerous attempts by entrepreneurs only led to the fact that they began to produce special equipment according to a certain pattern. Fordson, which was released by Ford back in 1917, was taken as an analogue. The design of this transport was extremely simple, thanks to which the special equipment successfully and for a long time entered mass production.
