The Ministry for Regional Development, Housing and Communal Services and Construction of Ukraine is working out directly with representatives of international banking structures the possibility of attracting additional funds in the housing and communal services sector in the amount of 1.5 billion euros, which will be used to modernize the entire industry.
The relevant information was announced by the Minister of Regional Development, Mr. Temnik, during the conference, which was devoted to the issue of intensifying the program for the development of the domestic economy in the period 2013-2014. According to experts, the total capacity of this market is at the level of 500-600 billion hryvnias. Regarding the possibility of attracting additional funds in this area, a discussion of the problems of this issue is being held, with regard to attracting additional financial resources.
In accordance with the package that has been developed by the department over the past three months, the modernization of the Ukrainian housing and communal services requires about 1.5 billion euros. All these funds are required for modernization, as well as measurements of all old and demolished equipment. In the next two years, it is planned to raise funds in the amount of UAH 22 billion for modernization. They will be directed to housing and communal services, but before that it is very important to form relevant projects and business plans. At the moment, a specialized enterprise is successfully operating in the ministry, which will provide assistance to all Ukrainian cities that do not have qualified specialists to work at the World Bank level. Several pilot projects have already been launched over the past year.
