Many sooner or later the question arises: how to paste the wallpaper yourself? For a person who first took up a roller, a paint brush and a roll of wallpaper, the task is really not an easy one.
There are many wallpapers on the building materials market. They differ in quality., country of manufacture, destination and, of course, price. For children’s rooms, as a rule, vinyl or non -woven wallpaper is chosen. For kitchens, most housewives prefer washable. In living rooms, the use of the so-called “silk-screen printing” has become popular. Ordinary paper is used in the same way. Everyone chooses wallpaper for himself or with the help of a specialist.
If the wallpaper that you have chosen is thin enough, then you immediately need to start leveling the walls. Using a spatula, a layer of leveling plaster is applied to the wall. After the solution has dried, the wall is rubbed with sandpaper so that there are no irregularities and roughness. Apply another layer if necessary. If the thickness of the leveling mixture is large, grids are additionally laid. After the wall is coated with a primer.
After measuring the required length, apply glue to the wallpaper. Carefully coat the edges – this is the place of future joints. Folds the smeared part in half, then each of the halves another half. So the wallpaper should lie down for 2-4 minutes. After – unfold and glue.
It is customary to start gluing wallpaper from the window. So that the joints are not visible, we use a special roller. As soon as the wallpaper is stuck to the wall, it is necessary to “drive out” the air that got there with a roller. Particular attention should be paid to joints.
Start pasting should be in a room with closed windows. The next day they are also not recommended to be opened. Drafts should be avoided.to. they adversely affect recently pasted wallpaper.
